Once in a while you come across someone new and when they walk away you say to yourself-“WOW- they just dazzled me.” There are very few people that walk into a room and can command your attention like Nancy Medoff.
I had the opportunity to work with Nancy during the initial stages of the acquisition of Starwood Hotels by Marriott International and was truly impressed with her intelligence, personality, and strategic acumen. I feel fortunate we stayed in touch and she’s acted as a coach/mentor. She’s pushed me to ask better questions(of others and myself), helped me to authentically define my overall career objectives, and challenged me to be more in tune with myself during the process.
If you should have the opportunity to partner with Nacy… Do it. You’ll be so thankful you did!
It may take a village to raise a child, but it takes a special kind of person to develop and travel industry professional. I am fortunate enough to call Nacy Medoff my “special person” and WLNiT Mentor. Over the past few months, she has become my cheerleader, development coach and much-needed sounding board, all wrapped up into one dynamic package. Her real-world advice, thoughtful guidance, and shoot-from-the-hip style leave me energized and ready to tackle the next challenge (whether big or small) and her ability to teach by sharing past experiences is a rare talent. She is truly an asset to any organization looking for a leader who can develop talent and make a positive impact on staff.
I had the pleasure of attending a conference Nancy helped organized about women navigating and powering their careers. It is hard to put into words what it was like to learn from Nancy, but after spending 3 days with her I feel more empowered and more confident in myself than I ever have before. In addition to moderating the panel discussion and sharing stories and advice throughout the weekend, she lead the confidence workshop– very fitting as I have never met anyone with the confidence and ability to command a room the way Nancy does. She not only told us what it takes to achieve success, but she really gave us the tools to get there. I can confidently say that all of my future accomplishments will be, in part, due to what I learned at this conference with Nancy. I hope others who have the opportunity to learn from her realize how fortunate they are and take advantage of it.
